Question on Probability of Students in a Class Room

Topic : Probability

Question : In a class of 72 students, 44 are girls and,of these, 12 are going to college. Of the 28 boys in the class, 9 are going to college. If a student is selected at random from the class, what is the possibility that the person chosen is a girl who is not going to a college?

Answer :
First let us find possibility that a girl goes to college = 12/44 = 3/11
So the possibility that a girl doesnot go to college = 1 - 3/11 = 11-3 / 11 = 8/11
so the answer is 8/11
or
32 girls do not go to the college
So required probability is 32/44 = 8/11
