Pythagoras theorem

My friends, now that i see that you are aware of many things in mathematics, i want you to go more deeper in the subject therefore the topic i have chosen today is Pythagoras Theorem. Firstly i brief you with what is theorem, and then we will move on to Pythagoras theorem. it sounds interesting right, believe me it is interesting. Not only this topic all the topics in mathematics are interesting.

Introduction of Theorem:-

What is a Theorem? I am sure this is the question which would have raised in your mind at the moment. Well, Theorem is a statement which has been proved on the basis of previously established statements, such as other theorems, and previously accepted statements, such as axioms. ..it is a formula or statement that is proven by other formulas. A theorem is the usual heading for an important mathematical statement of fact.

Now that you are aware of what is theorem, lets proceed to Pythagoras theorem, the definition and an example is mentioned below.

Pythagoras theorem:- This is one of the most famous theorems in mathematics and named as Pythagoras theorem or Pythagorean theorem. In a right angled triangle, the square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on the sides containing the right angle. Pythagoras theorem has a wide applications in many field till today and would continue to have for ever.

Following is an example using proof of Pythagorean theorem

Example: Solve this triangle.

right angled triangle

a2 + b2 = c2

52 + 122 = c2

25 + 144 = c2

169 = c2

c2 = 169

c = √169

c = 13

I have explained you the most famous theory i.e. Pythagoras theorem and is very easy to understand, the above example would have made it easier for you to understand. Friends, i will explain you the properties of pythagoras theorem in my next post, check it out. It will add to your knowledge.

Knowledge is a vast ocean and there is no end to it the more you enter, the more deeper it goes. I need your comments to know more about your views on my post so feel free to post your comments.
