Convert fractions into decimals

In my previous post we discussed how to convert decimals to fractions, now lets work on converting fractions into decimals. Interesting right?? I am sure this topic also will be as interesting as the previous one.

There are a few steps to be followed to convert fractions into decimal, these steps are mentioned below. Look for the examples below.

Below we have some steps to learn how to change fractions into decimal and following are a few examples:

Step 1:

In fraction, multiply any number so that bottom of the fraction will be 10, or 100, or 1000, or any form followed by 0s.

Step 2:

Multiply the same number to numerator and denominator.

Step 3:

Keep the top number ( numerator) and put the decimal place in the correct mark that is one space from the right for every zero in the denominator.

Lets explain the same with some examples.

Example No1: Convert fractions into decimals.

1/4

Multiple both the numerator and denominator with 25

(1/4)*(25/25)

1.25/4.25

=25/100

Leave the numerator 25 as it is and give 2 spaces as of the right and place the dot as 100 has two zeros in it.

Therefore the answer= 0.25

Using the same steps lets solve some more examples below.

Example No2:- Convert 32/25

Answer: 1.28

Example No3:- Convert 21/8

Answer: 2.625
