I have given you the definition of Surds in my previous post, which is very informative for children like you all. Lets learn more about Surds like Types of Surds

There are generally three types of surds,

1. Pure surds:

Example: $\displaystyle{\sqrt[{{2}}]{{{5}}}}$ , $\displaystyle{\sqrt[{{3}}]{{{5}}}}$

2. Mixed surds:

Example: 4 $\displaystyle{\sqrt[{{4}}]{{{7}}}}$ , 2 $\displaystyle\sqrt{{{6}}}$

3. Similar surds:

Example: $\displaystyle{\sqrt[{{5}}]{{{2}}}}$ , $\displaystyle{\sqrt[{{7}}]{{{2}}}}$

Types of surds based on order:

Surds may be classified as three types depending upon the orders of the surd.

1. Quadratic surd: This kind of surds having the order of 2,

$\displaystyle{\sqrt[{{2}}]{{{6}}}}$

2. Cubic surd: This kind of surds having the order of 3

$\displaystyle{\sqrt[{{3}}]{{{8}}}}$

3. Quartic surd: This kind of surds having the order of 4

$\displaystyle{\sqrt[{{4}}]{{{15}}}}$
