Some examples of Place Value

We discussed about the place values in my previous post. Now lets work on it lets solve a few problems on them, other words lets find the place value of few numbers.

Problem No 1:- Find the Place value of the number 5,61,268

Above number can be written as five lakh sixty one thousand two hundred and sixty eight. Here we see the numbers and their place value. Lets try the same using decimal.

Problem No.2: Now lets solve a place value with decimal number.

To understand the concept of place value in decimal number. Let us consider a number like 34.568

In this the first digit is 3 is at tens place. this number has 3 tens.

The second digit is 4 at ones place means this number has 4 ones.

The third digit is 5 is after decimal hence it is at tenth place. it means this number has 5 tenth.

The fourth digit is 6 is at hundredth place. it means this number has 6 hundredth.

The fifth digit is 8 is at thousandth place means this number has 8 thousandth.


Above we have discussed problem on decimals also. This was a very easy method to improve on place value. Isn't it?
